Update: Sweden’s Karlsson (15-under) shot the low round of the day, a bogey-free seven under 65, to earn a three stroke win over Alvaro Quiros (Spain) at the European Tour Qatar Masters played in the United Arab Emirates.

Recommendation: Karlsson’s eye problems of last year appear to be a thing of the past. England’s Lee Westwood and Brett Rumford (Australia) tied for third at 11-under. Kenny Perry and Anthony Kang (both USA) tied for 49th at three-over. Karlsson and Quiros are useful fantasy pieces when in the USA.
